Where were you born?

Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain

Where do you live?

Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain

What did you study at Elisava?

Degree in Design (Mention in Graphic Design)

Where do you work?

Currently, I work at Helsinki Agency, a small independent creative agency that I combine with small personal projects.

What has been your professional background?

Throughout the 4 academic years, I have been able to develop my skills in various studios and companies. In 2021, I was part of the communication team at Escofet 1886, collaborating and providing support on communication, photography, and editorial design projects. In 2022 I did an internship at Folch Studio as a graphic designer in Acid House. I gave support in tasks related to editorial design, branding, and design of assets for social networks. In 2023 I had the opportunity to join Studio Aranda Santos, where I consolidated my training as a designer. During my time at the studio, I was involved in various projects, ranging from catalog design for furniture companies to the creative management of social networks. That same year I was one of the students chosen as "High Potential 2023" of the ADC*E (Arts Directors Club of Europe) with the experimental editorial project Aún Te Quiero. Months later, my final project Ultra Materiam. The graphic interpretation of identity beyond matter was the winner of the Brut! 2023 competition (former Campus Blanc!) and I had the great opportunity to present it at the Blanc! Festival, together with great professionals in the sector and emerging talents. As I mentioned before, I am currently working at Helsinki Agency, as a "Visual designer". A position that allows me to experiment beyond graphic design, allowing me to participate in art direction projects, content generation, and photography. All this, from a contemporary point of view, keeps the focus on curiosity and the internet.

What is design for you?

It's hard to define design in words since it's something that my vision is constantly changing. We must understand that design is a method of communication, something intrinsic in every human being. It should aim not only to create something aesthetically pleasing but also to transmit ideas and thoughts. I believe and defend that design has the ability, and I would dare to say, the obligation, to make those who receive it reflect, creating a unique interpretation for each of us. It is our job as designers to go beyond each project, being able to teach the world new ways of interpreting our environment.

Who inspires you from a professional point of view?

Personally, music is something that helps me a lot to create. Music generates atmospheres that change how we perceive reality at that very moment. I think design also shares this ability to generate universes and visual atmospheres in which we can immerse ourselves. Artists like The 1975, Clairo, or The Japanese House are great influences in my work. From a creative point of view, I am inspired by people like Max Barnett or Virgile Flores, but if I had to choose one, I would choose Samuel Burgess Johnson. From the beginning, I have been very inspired by his graphic control and his ability to create new imagery.

How would you define your time at Elisava?

I would define it as follows: ⚒ 👀 🚀

What has marked you the most from what you have learned at Elisava?

I have learned that design should not stop at creating something visually attractive, but should carry a message that tries to change the perception we have as individuals.

A word of advice:

Nothing enriches a project more than the people behind it.

A challenge for the future:

To generate imaginaries and projects that make people think.
