The lighting design studio Anoche, led by Elisava Alumni Jordi Ballesta, has received an important recognition at the LIT Lighting Design Awards. Their project in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter has been awarded in the Residential Lighting Design Award category.

The project focuses on an emblematic historic building in the Gothic Quarter, where Anoche has achieved a symbiosis between heritage conservation and modernization. This achievement is the result of a strategic collaboration with RBTA and The Onsider. The challenge was twofold: to create lighting that was not only visually appealing to users, but also met criteria of economic viability and energy efficiency.

Anoche met this challenge with an innovative solution: the installation of motion sensors throughout the property. This strategy ensures that lighting is only activated when spaces are occupied, optimizing energy consumption. This approach has proven to not only improve the user experience, but also align the project with sustainable and responsible practices.
