What is Trustto Team x Open Arms?
The project stems from the humanitarian crisis that the Mediterranean has been experiencing for years, where thousands of vulnerable people have died by drowning after being abandoned by governments, who leave them adrift in their flight caused by war, persecution or other types of structural violence.
Given the similar objectives and philosophy of Elisava and Open Arms, a bond between our engineering team and Open Arms has been created to develop a reusable floating device, adaptable to different vessels and capable of keeping drifting boats afloat.
Open Arms is a humanitarian, non-governmental and non-profit organisation (NGO), whose main purpose is to protect the lives of all those people who attempt to reach Europe through the Mediterranean Sea.
